On Tuesday, a set of Mozilla 1.3.1 candidate builds was released. Later on in the week, another set of updates was made available, featuring some security fixes from the trunk. If all goes well, Mozilla 1.3.1 will be released at the beginning of next week.
Venkman 0.9.60 has landed on the trunk. Amongst other changes, this version features an x-jsd:debugger URL handler that allows Venkman to be launched from a bookmark (useful if you are using Firebird). Newer versions are available from the Venkman Development page.
There is a new Preferences UI for setting what is displayed on Navigator start-up, when a new window is opened and when a new tab is opened (bug 201177).
By default, the size of the memory cache is now a proportion of the physical memory available (bug 105344).
A new build option allows several mail/news DLLs to be combined, reducing memory footprint. This option is off by default but is enabled in the newest Thunderbird builds (bug 179533).
Sending or printing certain messages should no longer reveal information that could be used in a hostile hacking attack (including the .slt path, user name and server name) (bug 176016).
When an SMTP server sends an unexpected error code or drops the connection, Mozilla will no longer pretend that the message was sent successfully (bug 200647).
CRAM-MD5 authentication is now supported for POP3, in addition to IMAP and SMTP (bug 202442).
Gopher support is no longer completely broken (bug 202188).
A few problems have prevented the mozilla.org site from updating during certain periods over the last couple of weeks (bug 202060). This caused the last two status updates to appear several days later than normal, even though they were checked in on time. The problems have now been fixed.
The trunk is now frozen for Mozilla 1.4 Beta. Check tinderbox for the latest status.
